Chewy Fudgy Homemade Brownies
These classic chewy fudgy brownies are made with rich vegan chocolate chips, offering a delightful blend of textures and flavors. They are moist and hold their form well, making them a popular dessert.
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F/165 degrees C.
- 2
Melt vegan chocolate chips (1 cup) in the microwave for a minute, stirring after, or over a small pot of boiling water until completely melted.
- 3
In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour (0.75 cup), sea salt (0.5 tsp), and baking soda (0.25 tsp). Set aside.
- 4
In a separate bowl, combine ground flaxseed (2 tbsp) with water (6 tbsp) and let sit for 5 minutes (this creates your flax egg).
- 5
Add the prepared flax egg, brown sugar (0.75 cup), melted coconut oil (0.75 cup), water (2 tbsp), and pure vanilla extract (1 tsp) to a bowl and mix for about 2 minutes. Add to the dry mixture and melted vegan chocolate chips (1 cup) and stir for about 3 minutes until combined.
- 6
Stir in the remaining vegan chocolate chips (1 cup) (unmelted).
- 7
Pour into a greased, parchment-lined, or greased foil-lined 8x8 inch square pan. Bake for 35 minutes.
- 8
When finished, remove from oven and allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. The pan should be completely cool, which can take up to an hour and a half.
