Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 550 degrees F (288 C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together bread flour (3 cups), baking powder (1 tbsp), sugar (1 tsp) (optional), and salt (0.5 tsp). Make a well in the center.
- 3
In a measuring cup, combine warm water (1 cup), apple cider vinegar (1 tsp) (optional), and olive oil (1 tbsp) (optional). Pour into the well of the dry ingredients. Mix with a spatula until a dough ball nearly forms.
- 4
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes, adding more flour (a tablespoon at a time) until no longer sticky.
- 5
On a sheet of parchment paper, sprinkle corn flour or desired flour. Place the dough ball on it and roll into a circle.
- 6
Lightly indent a 0.5 inch (1.25 cm) crust around the edge. Add pizza sauce and desired toppings, avoiding excess to prevent a soggy crust.
- 7
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or a baking sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and, if desired, brush the crust with vegan butter (1 tbsp). Let cool, then slice and serve.
