5-Ingredient Granola Bars
These 5-ingredient, no-bake granola bars are a nutritious and portable snack, naturally sweetened with dates. With a crunchy texture from roasted almonds and toasted oats, they provide plenty of healthy fats and fiber without refined sugar. Perfect for a quick breakfast or a satisfying energy boost during work or outdoor activities.
Instructions
- 1
Process dates (1 heaping) in a food processor for about 1 minute until small bits remain and it forms a dough-like ball.
- 2
Optionally toast rolled oats (1.5 cup) and roasted almonds (1 cup) in a 350-degree F oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- 3
Combine the oats, almonds, and processed dates in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- 4
Warm maple syrup (0.25 cup) and peanut butter (0.25 cup) in a small saucepan over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- 5
Stir the warm liquid into the dry ingredients and mix well, breaking up the dates. Add optional [chocolate chips] or [banana chips] if desired.
- 6
Transfer to an 8x8-inch dish lined with parchment and press down firmly with a flat object until uniformly flattened.
- 7
Cover the pan and firm up in the fridge or freezer for 20 minutes.
- 8
Remove from the pan and slice into 10 even bars. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
