Slice the extra firm tofu (1 block) as thinly as possible.

Mix soy sauce (1 cup), tomato paste (2 tbsp), vegan worcestershire (2 tbsp), maple syrup (2 tbsp), liquid smoke (2 tbsp), and water (2 cups) together in a tall resealable container.

Add sliced [extra firm tofu] to the marinade and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. For a quicker marinade option, microwave [extra firm tofu] in the marinade for 10 minutes on medium power, or simmer in a saucepan for 10-15 minutes.

Strain [extra firm tofu] slices from the marinade (reserve marinade for another use if desired).

Cook [extra firm tofu] bacon slices in a skillet or on a griddle over medium heat until browned and crispy.
