Instructions
- 1
Press and drain the extra firm tofu (1 package) using a tofu press or by wrapping it in a towel with a heavy pot on top for minutes (30).
- 2
Start preparing your [cooked rice, quinoa, noodles] if serving with this dish.
- 3
In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil (0.25 cup), low sodium soy sauce (0.33 cup), and garlic chili sauce (0.5 tsp) (if using). Set aside.
- 4
Once the [extra firm tofu] is pressed, slice it in half and then into 0.5 inch cubes.
- 5
Add the [extra firm tofu] cubes to a bowl and toss with cornstarch (2 tbsp) until fully coated.
- 6
Place the coated [extra firm tofu] in an air fryer and cook for minutes (5). Then toss and cook for another minutes (5) or until desired crispiness (may need an additional [3-5 minutes]). If you don't have an air fryer, pan fry in oil or bake until crispy.
- 7
While the tofu is air frying, prepare the garlic sauce. Add the reserved sauce mixture to a skillet over medium heat. Stir in cornstarch (1 tbsp) and let cook until it begins to thicken.
- 8
Add in the crispy [extra firm tofu] and cook for another [2-3 minutes], stirring to coat all the tofu with the sauce.
- 9
Remove from heat and serve over [cooked rice, quinoa, noodles] or other optional dish. Garnish with [sesame seeds], if desired.
