Apple Pie Wontons And Peach Chutney

These easy apple pie wontons offer a delightful crunch, enhanced by a sweet and tangy peach chutney. Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly spray a baking sheet with [light canola oil spray].

    Peel and core the apple (1 small) and cut it into wedges about 0.25 to 0.5 inch thick. Aim for slices as thick as possible while still allowing you to seal the wrapper.

    Place an [apple slice] on a [gyoza wrapper] with the straighter edge along the center line. If using square wrappers, lay the apple diagonally. Sprinkle the apple with [cinnamon] and [powdered sugar], avoiding the edges of the wrapper.

    Moisten the edges of the wrapper with [water]. Fold the wrapper over the apple slice and pinch to seal. This works best when holding the wonton with one hand while pinching with the other. (For square wrappers, you should form a triangle.)

    Place the filled [gyoza wrappers] on the baking sheet, lightly spray with [light canola oil spray], and bake for minutes (10).

    Turn the wontons over and bake for another minutes (10), or until lightly browned on both sides. Remove to a cooling rack to cool.

    For the Quick Peach Chutney: Place the peeled and finely diced (1 peaches,), apple juice (2 tbsp), raisins (1 tbsp), and agave nectar (1 tbsp) in a small microwavable bowl. Cook on high power for minute (1).

    Stir and cook for another minute (1), or until the peaches begin to break down and the raisins plump. If the mixture seems dry, add a little more [apple juice], but it should be very thick. Lightly break up the raisins with a spoon to release their sweetness.

    Stir in the [scant pinch ground cloves] and apple cider vinegar (0.5 tsp), and cook for one more minute (1).

  10. 10

    Serve the Apple Pie Wontons sprinkled with [cinnamon] and [powdered sugar] or with the Peach Chutney for dipping.
